College of Golf Class Conducts Season-Ending Charity Golf Tournament

by Dr. Eric Wilson Keiser University College of Golf Executive Director of Golf Operations

Keiser University College of Golf (KUCOG), Professor Frank Longabucco’s Tournament Management class members, recently organized and conducted a course and season-ending tournament held at Park Ridge Golf Course in Lake Worth, Florida, to benefit Cystic Fibrosis.

Twenty-four players (12 teams) competed in the two-person scramble format, with prizes awarded to the winners. The team of Alex Johnston and George Pepper fired a round of 10-under par 62 to claim victory.

“The experience of actually planning, organizing, and conducting a tournament reinforces the classroom learning environment and rewards students with a hands-on, real-world application of what it is like to work in the golf industry,” said Professor Longabucco. He reiterated, “The event ran smoothly; participants and organizers enjoyed the opportunity and had nothing but positive feedback.”
