When hitting a ball over a water hazard, remember to use an old ball you don’t care about! In all seriousness, here are 5 pieces of advice to help your ball make its journey over the water.

  1. Focus on the target point.
  2. Hit the ball flush.
  3. Treat the shot as though the water isn’t there.
  4. Use your core muscles to power your swing.
  5. Practice at different courses.

The biggest mistake you can make when needing to clear a water hazard is to focus on your fear of the ball going into the water instead of focusing on your goal.  We make the same mistake in life when we focus on our fear of obstacles and failure instead of pursuing our goals.
