Masters Traditions

The Masters has a rich history. Here are just a few of the traditions and their origins:

The Green Jacket

First introduced to help members stand out, it’s now used  to  showcase those who are set apart. Winners keep the green jacket  until it’s time to pass it on to the next champion.

Champion’s Dinner

Winning the Masters has several benefits, including getting to select the menu for the Champion’s dinner the following year. Better play hard if you don’t like traditional Texas barbecue- Speith’s menu this year.

Skipping the Ball

It may be a little weird to see what feels like a breach of etiquette on the course, but crowds love to watch golfers attempt to skip their ball across the water to the putting green.
