What Golfers Have the Most Holes in One?

What Golfers Have the Most Holes in One - KUCOG

A hole-in-one, or an ace, is one of the most difficult things a golfer can accomplish. It isn’t easy to drive a ball 300 or 400 yards straight into the cup. Sinking an ace is a combination of skill and luck, and some PGA players have a little more of both than others. According to the 2024 PGA Tour Media Guide, 35 tour players have hit five or more holes in one.

What is A Hole in One?

A hole-in-one in golf occurs when a player hits the ball directly from the tee into the cup on the green with a single stroke. Achieving a hole-in-one in golf is extremely rare and is considered one of the most impressive feats in the game due to the skill and luck involved. Most commonly, holes in one are made on par-3 holes, which are shorter and more feasible for a single stroke to reach the green. For amateur players, the odds of making a hole-in-one are roughly 12,500 to 1, while for professional golfers, the odds improve significantly to around 2,500 to 1.

Because of its rarity, a hole-in-one is a celebrated event, often accompanied by rounds of drinks at the clubhouse, as tradition holds that the player buys drinks for everyone in celebration. Many golf courses and tournaments even offer prizes, such as cars or cash, for players who achieve a hole-in-one on designated holes. This one-of-a-kind sports accomplishment showcases both precision and a perfect combination of power and control, making it a memorable moment for any golfer.

  1. I have had 3 hole in ones. My 1st one was 234 yards at CottonWood golf course in El Cajon, Ca and I screamed “bloody murder” for a long time!!!

A ball 1 inch in diameter to a hole 4 inches diameter 234 yards away with a club in my hands. What would you do??

  3. I have made 1 hole in one. That being said; I’ve made (9 ) 2’s on par 4’s. You’d think that would be a closer ratio?

It’s all about the odds. You only get 4 chances per round whereas you get like 10 chances on the par 4’s per round.

  4. I have 7 Hole in 1’s lifetime already.

  5. I’ve played for about 20-25 years. I got my first hole in one, 1/28/23 at Stewart Penisula GC in Colony. Texas. Par 3 147 yards. All I could do is swear and scream for about 3 minutes.

    Best golf game ever

    Claude C.

  6. Back in the day I hit a real banger. Went right in the cup and swirled in there like a whipped cream on a latte.

  7. Roger, no last name, claimed he has 17 hole in ones. Hate to point it out, but that’s pretty much mathematically impossible. The average golfer has a 1 in 10000 chance of getting an ace. That would almost have to be on a par 3 hole. The average golf course has 3, or 4 par threes. That means that a player would have to play at least 2500 rounds to get an ace. If you played every day you’d have to play for almost 7 years for each one. The average pro gets one every 2500 attempts, that means it would take them about two years. Jack Nicholson has 21 lifetime aces, Tiger Woods has 20.

  8. My only hole in one was Feb 11, 2021 when I was 82, I shot 83 that day. Spanish Wells Club, Hilton Head Island, SC

  9. 19 aces in the last 17 years plus 1 albatross .

It only took about 4000 rounds

5 different holes 1 ace each

2 other holes 7 aces each

  10. I have 2 hole in ones.My first hole in one came in 1983.I took 5 golf lessons and it was my second time out. I used a 6 iron with a distance of 133yds. at Sunnybrooke golf course in Toledo.

  11. I got one in 2016, on a par three course in mn. Hole 8, 121yards. I watched my brother get one in 2015, on the same course on hole 7, 97 yards I think. Only two I’ve ever witnessed in 15 years of playing. Not likely to see many more as we’re both bogey golfers.

  12. I have recorded 26 aces from August 1990 til now (September 2023). However, they have all been on par 3 courses. Not sure if that’s as impressive as even getting one ace on a full length course.

My longest was from 85 yards at Ambleside pitch and putt in West Vancouver, BC.

My latest was on number 7 (67 yards) at West Richmond Pitch and Putt in Richmond, BC, on September 11, 2023.

I once had 2 aces on the same day in 2011 at Queen Elizabeth Par 3 in Vancouver. Not during the same round, but in consecutive rounds.

Even from short yardage it still feels good!

  13. I have had 4 all in Tampa over 50 years. Two of them with the same five iron. The two holes were litterally the closest to my home. Within six months of each other. 175 yards
I’ve played a lot of golf all over the world but all hole in ones have been in my home town

  14. My family has a total of 37 holes in ones . My dad was a professional and had 19 my oldest brother has 10 , I have 4 , my sister has 1 , and my little brother has 3 . Oldest brother is professional and my little brother is also a professional

  15. I’ve had 2. I was with a driver on a 255 yd hole(albatross) in 1974 with my 1st wife at 26 years old. The 2nd was with a pitching wedge on a 102 yard hole with my 2nd wife at 67 years old. Should I get married again?!!

  16. I think I have the closest possible hole-in-one without it going in. Ball mark was 1″ to the right, and the ball was 1″ to the left. No idea what it did in between – from 157 out.

  17. Im the Capt. Of the OC i have 13 hole in ones. One on par 4 funny thing it was my 10th hole in one on hole 10 cost me about $350 in booze.

  18. I READ WHERE A GOLFER HAS TO PLAY FOR 46 YEARS BEFORE HE GET A HOLE IN ONE, I HAD BEEN
PLAYING 46 WHEN I GOT MINE AND NOW I HAVE 5 BUT I AM 77 YEARS OLD WHICH MAY HAMPER MY
    EVER GETTING ANOTHER!

  19. I have 8 hole in ones, 5 came in 1992 and last one was May 25 2024. All of the hole in ones were made after at least one hip replacement, the last one was after 3 hip replacements. All were made in the Nashville Tenn area and all on different golf courses.

  20. I am 80 yrs old and have had 2 holes in one. First one on a par 3 course, 90 yds with a 9 iron. Second one on a regular course 135 yds with a 7 wood. Both after I turned 64.

  21. I have only hit 1 hole. 6 witnesses including the course superintendent. He saw it before everyone. My friend has 7, and with a cattywampus flag lean, he should have 13, but he won’t count the 6 because they weren’t “in” the hole.

  22. I have 8 hole in ones. 2 that were 2 weeks apart and 2 more at 6 weeks apart, 2 more 7 weeks apart. And also 2 more scattered in the middle.
    What a game

  23. I have 8 hole in ones. 2 that were 2 weeks apart and 2 more at 6 weeks apart, 2 more 7 weeks apart. And also 2 more scattered in the middle.
    What a game

  24. My first Ace was the best as I was playing with my brother, it was playing from the back tees, 178 yards, and while I had been driving to the course for my league round I was talking with my father and he said I want you to get a hole in one today and I laughed and said sure that will happen dad! I didn’t realize that I had aced it but my brother said I put it in the hole! I just thought I was going to win closest to the pin for $5.00 and it cost me rounds of drinks for two leagues! Lol
