Keiser University College of Golf Professor

I grew up in Philadelphia, PA nowhere near a golf course and never expected to have a career as a golf professional.

My career in golf has allowed me to visit some awesome places, live in four other states and meet some wonderful people.

Most importantly, I met my wife, son and daughter because my golf career took me to New Jersey once upon a time.

I have had the opportunity to play many golf courses that are considered some of the best in the world.

I have played what was considered, at the time I played it, the #1 ranked course in the following states: Georgia (Augusta National), New Jersey (Pine Valley), New York (Shinnecock Hills), North Carolina (Pinehurst #2), Alabama (Shoal Creek), Louisiana (Country Club of Louisiana), Mississippi (Old Waverly).

I have been to Scotland and played North Berwick and Gullane.

I have played Sunningdale near London, England.

I’ve gone to Ireland twice and have played Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Ballybunion, Lahinch, Portmarnock, Porstewart and Tralee.

I have a return trip to Scotland planned for 2018 during which I’m scheduled to play St. Andrew’s Old Course, Carnoustie, Royal Troon, Turnberry and Prestwick (all have hosted The Open Championship).

While working as Director of Instruction at Stone Mountain Golf Club I was invited to visit Athens Country Club and play a round with a former student of mine, David Miller, who played for the University of Georgia at the time.

Bubba Watson and Ryuji Imada played with us.

While working at Doral, I played golf with Johnny Bench (MLB Hall of Famer), Nat Moore (Miami Dolphins) and Gary McCord for 9 holes.

I also played a round with Alex Lifeson (lead Guitarist for Rush), and he gave me tickets to the show that night, where I was given Neil Peart’s drumsticks.

I met another former student of mine while in Alabama who is an NFL Hall of Famer and current GM of the Baltimore Ravens, Ozzie Newsome.

I have visited Baltimore twice to watch my team, the Steelers, lose to the Ravens.

I’m not asking Ozzie for any more tickets to watch the Steelers in Baltimore.

I have also been able to meet countless other people, co-workers and students, who have enriched my life in so many different ways.

My wife likes to joke that I don’t really have a job, since I get to do what I love every day; most people are not so fortunate.

The game of golf has contributed to my life tremendously, and I wouldn’t have enjoyed any other career as much as the one I chose.
