Several middle and high school Junior Golf Foundation of America students recently enjoyed training at Keiser University’s College of Golf indoor and outdoor facilities along with instructors John Callahan, an instructor and PGA Master Professional, Zack Anderton and Tony Barber, program alumni.
The group enjoyed practicing full swing fundamental skills on indoor tech toys such as the V-1 Swing Analysis video and TrackMan Golf Launch, while short game skills were assessed at Keiser University College of Golf game training area.
“The experience is a must for any young golfer who is thinking of competing at the high school level and eventually in college, as it allows the player to feel and see what they could achieve in golf. From the moment they walk onto campus, students receive attention from the faculty, practice at a high-tech facility, and have the opportunity for immediate feedback from a digital evaluation. It really gave my son, Brandon, a way to travel into the future and be part of his long-term goal for a day. I would recommend this experience to anyone with a passion for golf,” said Rudy Dopico.
Donna White, an LPGA Teaching and Hall of Fame Club professional and a Keiser University College of Golf instructor, who is also the co-founder of the Junior Golf Foundation, arranged the opportunity.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to provide a high- quality learning experience while showcasing the Keiser University Flagship campus to students and their families,” said White. “Learning moments in ‘lessons’ of the game are comparable to those in life, like honesty, integrity, and commitment, which are infused throughout the curriculum,” she smiled.
Additional Junior Golf Foundation of America (JGFA) members look forward to visiting the Keiser University Flagship campus over the summer. The mission of the JGFA is to provide affordable golf instruction and competition to the youth of South Florida.
