Keiser University’s Hybrid Master of Science in Sport Management and Operations (MSSMO) prepares students for a variety of professional positions in the business of sports. Students develop the critical thinking skills, business acumen, and communication proficiency needed to lead a multitude of sports endeavors ranging from little league to professional sports. The program reinforces ethical foundations and professional standards while fostering creativity, independent learning, and a climate of classroom collaboration.

Program Objectives

Students in this program develop a wide range of business capabilities applicable to the sport industry. After earning an M.S. in Sport Management and Operations, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply ethical principles and critical thinking as they manage the day-to-day business aspects of a sport organization.
  • Design, implement and manage sports events and facilities.
  • Identify and utilize trends to effectively market sports and their related products and services to consumers.
  • Discover how to apply best practices in sales to improve sales performance in sport organizations.
  • Assess current issues in sport management and their likely impact on varying sport organizations.
  • Discuss how the economics and finance of sports influence business decisions in sport organizations.
  • Use risk management and best legal practices to limit liability in those organizations.
