Keiser University Flagship Campus Outdoor Putting Green Tested by College of Golf Students
Students in Dr. Eric Wilson’s Bachelor of Science in Sport Management program tested the newly opened 10,000 square foot outdoor artificial putting green on Wednesday in a stroke play competition designed to identify the best putter in the class.
As this was the first competition on the new green, a new course record was guaranteed to be set. After the first round, two students fired 2-under par rounds of 34 on the par 36 course – John Golden and PK Chittapatra.
In a sudden-victory playoff, John Golden holed a 7-foot putt to claim victory on the third playoff hole. In a second round of play, Jordan Marangelli tied John and PK with a 2-under par score to claim bragging rights as a course-record holder.
Students were extremely complimentary of the new facility, which should be completely open for use by the end of the month. In addition to the putting green, the outdoor training area will include 12 full-swing hitting bays and a 14,000 square foot pitching green surrounded by three bunkers. Students and staff alike are excited about the possibilities of practice and training in this area.
