Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management teamed with The First Tee of the Treasure Coast to obtain 50 online licenses for students to gain The First Tee Assistant Coach Training Certification. Students who volunteered to participate were selected on basis of their Grade Point Average and willingness to volunteer their time in support of The First Tee Program. Assistant Coach Training Certification is the first step toward achieving The First Tee Coach Certification and allows students to assist in delivering The First Tee programs to local participants in a clinic format. The First Tee Program stresses the nine core values of Courtesy, Confidence, Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Sportsmanship, and Judgment. These nine core values are delivered simultaneously with golf instruction to ensure graduates of The First Tee Program have an appreciation of the importance of life skills and the history and tradition of the game of golf, in addition to improved skills on the golf course. As Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management students enter the golf industry after graduation, they will be able to take the Assistant Coach Training Certification with them and grow the program and the game of golf throughout the country. The First Tee Assistant Coach Training Certification is one of many offered in the Associate of Science in Golf Management program.
