Dr. Gary Wiren Comes to College of Golf

Dr. Gary Wiren, PGA Master Professional and author of The PGA Teaching Manual, spoke to the Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management student body on Monday, November 4th. Dr. Wiren spoke at length about his concept of the golf swing, how to learn, how to teach, how to play, and the importance of physical fitness. He responded to questions about The PGA Teaching Manual and what, if anything, he would change if he had the chance. The student body was treated to an historical display of golf clubs and memorabilia from Dr. Wiren’s extensive collection and stories from his illustrious playing/teaching career. In addition to his many accomplishments, Dr. Wiren was the PGA Teacher of the Year in 1987 and has consistently been selected as one of America’s best teachers by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest Magazine. He is honored in six Golf Halls of Fame in the United States and is one of only three professionals to be selected for both The PGA Hall of Fame and The World Golf Teacher’s Hall of Fame. Upon completing his presentation, Dr. Wiren answered individual student’s questions and signed copies of The PGA Teaching Manual for students. It was an honor to have such a distinguished guest speaker at Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management, and student comments were all positive and enthusiastic about Dr. Wiren’s presentation.
