College of Golf Staff Earn Impact Zone Golf Certifications

Four Keiser University College of Golf Teachers recently earned Impact Zone Golf™ Instructor Certifications: Brian Hughes, PGA Master Professional and College of Golf Program Director, David Wixson, PGA Master Professional and College of Golf Faculty Member, Frank Longabucco, PGA Professional Certified in Instruction and Golf Operations and College of Golf Faculty Member, and John Callahan, PGA Member, Golf Magazine Top 100 Adjunct Instructor and College of Golf Faculty Member.

Brian Hughes, PGA Master Professional and Golf Program Director for Keiser University College of Golf, brings decades of golf industry management expertise and thousands of hours of golf instruction to Impact Zone Golf. Brian has been involved in the golf education arena for nine years and was General Manager at three prestigious golf clubs from 1994-1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Clarion University and was one of the first 100 PGA Professionals to achieve Certification in Instruction. Brian was the Southern Ohio PGA Section Merchandiser of the Year in 1995 and 1996. He was nominated for Golf Professional of the Year for the Southern Ohio PGA Section in 1999 and was nominated for Teacher of the Year for the Carolinas Section PGA in 2007. Brian was one of the first two PGA Professionals to start the Keiser University College of Golf program in December 2009.

David Wixson, PGA Master Professional and Faculty Member for Keiser University College of Golf, includes both playing and teaching experience as part of his background in the golf industry. While working at Marriott’s Grand Hotel in Port Clear, Alabama, David competed regularly on the Emerald Coast Golf mini-tour and won the PGA Dixie Section ARC Charity Invitational. Ultimately deciding that he had a great passion for teaching, David took a position as Director of Instruction at Marriott’s Stone Mountain Golf Club near Atlanta, Georgia, then moved into the Senior Instructor position for the Faldo Golf Institute at Marriott’s Seaview Resort near Atlantic City, New Jersey. In 2000, David started his own golf instruction company, GolfPerfect, which he operated until 2010 when he joined Keiser University’s College of Golf.
